ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO FUND YOUR LEGACY
LEGACY GIFTS
In addition to current donations, Donors may want to provide their support through their will. The Foundation will work with donors to ensure that any special intention is met for money they leave to Rosalie Hall in their will. Donors who have already identified the Rosalie Hall Foundation in their will, as well as new donors who are considering doing so are welcome to contact the foundation to discuss their intentions.
YOUR WILL
One effective way of participating in the legacy of compassionate care is to remember the Rosalie Hall foundation in your will. If you have a particular program that you wish to fund, we invite you to discuss that with us now so we can ensure that when your donation comes forward it is used for a productive purpose. When drafting your will or giving your lawyer or paralegal instructions to draft your will simply ask that they include a paragraph which states:
“Out of the residue of my estate, to provide the amount of xxxx, to the Rosalie Hall Foundation for the charitable purpose of _____” .
We invite you or your legal advisor to contact us further to discuss this or any related matter by emailing us.
We will continue to report to any of your heirs, that you identify, about how your legacy gift is performing and the good work that it is continuing to support at Rosalie Hall.
DEED OF GIFT
If you wish to fund a particular program in your lifetime. We enter a legal agreement called a deed of gift which commits us to use the money for the purposes you intend. Preparing a deed of gift is a simple matter and a sample deed of gift is attached for your ease of reference.
RELATIONSHIP WITH DONORS
The Foundation works with donors to identify the particular aspects of the mission of Rosalie Hall which the donors wish to support or advance. Donors are also consulted about investment policy for the funds they provide. They then receive regular reports about how the income on their investments is supporting the program they designated as well as receiving reports on the performance of the investment. This is a relationship building exercise intended to engage donors as members of the Misericordia family, providing them with a rewarding personal and collaborative experience in fulfilling the mission of providing compassionate care and support to young mothers and children in need.
The targeted works that donors wish to support is set out in a formal legal document a “Deed of Gift “ .
