Stephen Waqué is a senior Counsel to the Law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. He is a founding member of its National Council and author of the legal text, The New Law of Expropriation and many other published papers.   Stephen is highly ranked by Lexpert, The Best Lawyers in Canada, Martindale-Hubbell and other lawyer ranking services as an expert in real estate development. He holds an honorary degree from The Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI Honors) and has been invited to lecture to numerous professional organizations including The Law Society of Upper Canada, The International Right-of-Way Association, The Appraisal Institute of Canada, The Ontario Bar Association, The Association of Municipal Real Estate Administrators, The British Columbia Expropriation Association, The Alberta Expropriation Association and The American Bar Association. Stephen’s successful career as a trial and appellant counsel is documented in numerous reported decisions.  He also has extensive experience in advising on real estate investments and currently is appointed to the advisory board of a prominent Toronto real estate development company.
With his wife Margo, Stephen has been a long-time volunteer at the parish level in Children’s liturgy and as a Eucharistic Minister, Stephen served on the Board of Rosalie Hall for 10 years, including three years as Board Chairperson. Stephen and Margo have two daughters, Clare and Victoria.
